When the Toyota Camry debuted in 1983, Toyota could not have imagined the success it would see in the U.S. market. The Camry has been the best-selling family sedan for nearly 25 years with consumers admiring its high build quality, comfortable ride, and impressive dependability and durability.
The sixth-generation Camry was built with a spacious cabin, plush ride quality, and top crash test scores. In 2010 the base engine was increased to 2.5 Liters and the power output was increased to 169-horsepower on the base model, up from 158-horsepower.
This fifth-generation model was just as comfortable, spacious, and full of features as future models. In 2004, the 3.3-liter V6 was introduced and in 2005 the transmission was upgraded from a four-speed to a five-speed automatic.
