With its iconic muscle car heritage, the Dodge Charger sedan is the epitome of performance.​ Now in its sixth generation, the Charger was originally released in 1966 as a two-door coupe, most famously remembered as the bright orange “General Lee” from the 1980s TV showThe Dukes of Hazzard.​ Dodge stopped production of the Charger in 1987 until it was reborn in 2006 as a four-door sedan and again heavily overhauled for the 2011 model year.​ ​ ​ 


The 2011 Dodge Charger received a long list of improvements from previous years, including an updated interior, a smoother ride and a more powerful engine.​ The Charger is available in 5 trim levels: SE, SXT, R/T, SRT8 and SRT8 Superbee

2007 – 2010

A third trim level was added to the Charger: SRT8 with a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 engine and 425 hp

A smaller 2.7-liter V6 engine with 190 hp also became standard on the SE model and a 4-speed automatic became the new base powertrain.
